Op Donderdag 27 April 2017 het Woodview Wagyu ‘n uitstekende Wagyu veiling aangebied in die Arlington distrik. Rekord pryse is behaal met nuwe SA rekords wat vir Wagyu beeste betaal is. n Nuwe rekord prys vir n Wagyu koei R470 000.00 was betaal deur mnr Lourens du Plessis van Thabazimbi. Mnr du Plessis het ook die volgende 3 duurste lotte gekoop teen R440 000.00, R410 000.00 en R395 000.00. Die gemiddeld van die volbloed Wagyu vroulike diere was R 225 625 gewees.
Die duurste bul is ook verkoop aan mnr Lourens du Plessis vir ‘n bedrag van R 210 000, die gemiddeld van die bulle was R 141 250 gewees. Die hoogste prys betaalbaar vir ‘n F3 vroulike dier was R 110 000, die koper was AK Peer van Kaapstad. Die gemiddeld van die F3 vroulike diere was R 100 000. Die duurste F1 verse is aan Petrus van Niekerk van Reitz verkoop teen ‘n bedrag van R 25 000, die gemiddeld van F1 verse was R 19 323.
Mnr du Plessis het aan Maguerite Vermeulen van Vrystaat Nuus genoem dat die diere ‘n belegging is omrede die vleis internasionaal uitgevoer word en ook dat die Wagyu vleis se vet baie gesond is omdat dit by n lae temperatuur smelt.
Brian Angus noem ook aan haar dat du Plessis nou een van die grootste Wagyu telers in Suid-Afrika is na sy aankope op die Woodview veiling. Die veiling is uiters suksesvol aangebied deur BKBLouwid Kroonstad. Die afslaer was mnr Mike Killassy.

On Thursday, 27 April 2017, Woodview Wagyu presented an excellent Wagyu auction in the Arlington district. Record prices have been achieved with new SA records paid for Wagyu cattle. A new record price for a Wagyu cow R470 000.00 was paid by Mr Lourens du Plessis of Thabazimbi. Mr du Plessis also bought the following 3 most expensive lots at R440 000.00, R410 000.00 and R395 000.00. The average of the full-blood Wagyu female animals was R 225 625.
The most expensive bull was also sold to Mr Lourens du Plessis for an amount of R 210 000, the average of the bulls was R 141 250. The highest price payable for an F3 female animal was R 110 000, the buyer was AK Peer of Cape Town. The average of the F3 female animals was R 100 000. Mr du Plessis mentioned Maguerite Vermeulen of Free State News that the animals are an investment because the meat is exported internationally and also that the Wagyu meat fat is very healthy because it melts at a low temperature.
Brian Angus also tells her that Du Plessis is now one of the largest Wagyu breeders in South Africa after his purchases at the Woodview auction. The auction was presented very successfully by BKBLouwid Kroonstad. The auctioneer was Mr. Mike Killassy.

The Local Grill Restaurant hosts a Beef Club, showcasing the unique qualities of a different breed of cattle every month. The Wagyu breed was festured and the results were fantastic. Everyone who joined had a fabulous Wagyu lunch and stayed later than usual.
We flushed 5 times in the 2013 and 2014 season. Implanting 180 embryo's. Below you can see Dr. Collin Albertyn flushing cattle for Wagyu embryo's and a red Angus cow with her Wagyu embryo calf.

Redhot sale! Red bulls averaged R43 000, with a top price of R70 000. Black Angus bulls averaged R37 000, with a highest price of R48 000. Congratulations, Brian, Maria and Angus family.
Drie Japannese Wagyu-beeste het vir die eerste keer op 'n veiling in Suid-Afrika onder die hamer gekom. Dié beeste, wat glo die sagste vleis van alle beesrasse ter wêreld oplewer en deur uitsonderlike marmering gekenmerk word, behoort aan mnr. Brian Angus van Arlington in die Vrystaat. Hulle het op 'n produksieveiling van sy Angus-stoetery Woodview onder die hamer gekom.
Twee Wagyu-verse is opgeveil en het R180 000 stuk behaal. Die koper was die Fredericksburgstoetery van Simondium in die Wes-Kaap, wat aan die Rupertfamilie behoort. Angus het ook 'n os teen R22 000 aan mnr. Alan Pick van The Butcher Shop & Grill in Sandton verkoop.
Angus boer al vir 'n paar jaar lank met die Wagyu's. 'n Paar ander boere het ook van hulle gekoop vanweë die hoë pryse wat vir die vleis betaal word.
Dié Wagyu-os is teen R22 000 verkoop op die eerste veiling van dié beesras, wat met mnr. Brian Angus van Arlington se Angus-veiling saamgeval het.

During 2009 an EXT cow of ours was awarded the Farmer's Weekly BEST ELITE COW AWARD for fertility in the Angus breed. This is the second occasion that the Woodview herd has won this award.
During December we flushed 4 cows and implanted 52 Wagyu, Red Brangus and Red Angus embryos.
